EXT. WOODS-DAY: (Strings tense violin underscore)
Woods stretch endlessly ahead. A group of three runners enters the frame, breathing heavily. They stop to catch their breath. RUNNER 1, a young male, holds his knees. RUNNER 2, a young female, holds her face in her hands. RUNNER 3, a middle-aged man, rubs his eyes, leaning against a tree.
All three runners look exhausted and dirty. A branch cracks off-screen. Runner 2 jerks her head up toward the sound. Runner 1 abruptly stands up as Runner 3 moves toward the other two.
(fade out strings tense violin underscore to ambient noise)
Another branch cracks.
The runners move slowly toward each other.
(Beat.) Another branch.
(Beat.)
ZOMBIE 1 (O.S) Grrrr...
The three runners stand back-to-back, then turn and run. Runner 1 trips and falls face first into the ground. The other runners stop and turn toward him. Runner 1 pushes to his hands and knees. A pair of grungy shoes is shown right in front of him. He slowly looks up to find ZOMBIE 1 standing over him.
He backs away slowly, then turns and runs as fast as he can. Zombie 1 lumbers after them, as two more zombies emerge from the trees.
The chase is on!
